Jacqueline Hudak holds a BA in Psychology from Boston University, an M.Ed. in Counseling and Consulting Psychology from Harvard University, and a Ph.D. in Couple and Family Therapy from Drexel University.
She sees individuals, couples and families in her practice in Center City, Philadelphia, and is available to work remotely, and to travel to families when necessary.
Dr. Hudak is an Assistant Clinical Professor of Psychiatry and teaches residents across all four years of their training at The University of Pennsylvania. She co-created a curriculum on Psychiatry, Culture and the Family, and provides advanced clinical supervision in Couple and Family Therapy to the 4th year trainees. She lectures at both Penn and CHOP on poststructural family therapy, working with diverse families, and incorporating a social justice lens into all facets of clinical work. She is known for her attention to dynamics of privilege and oppression as they organize and shape relationships and family life.
Dr. Hudak is currently the Family and Relationships Consultant to Providence Treatment Center, where she trains clinicians in couple and family therapy for substance use disorders. https://www.providencetreatment.com/
Dr Hudak has also taught couple and family therapy at the graduate and post graduate levels. Her research has focused on sexual fluidity and midlife identity transitions, and the impact of heteronormative culture on family life as well as family therapy theory. She has presented nationally on a variety of topics that include the use of qualitative autoethnographic research in the family therapy field.
Dr. Hudak was formerly the Clinical Director of The Center for Couples and Adult Families at Penn Medicine (2013-2019). In that position, she collaborated with program directors and colleagues in Psychiatry to provide family psychoeducation and couple and family therapy for a wide variety of mood and substance use disorders.
